Flying From Boston or Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles

I’m planning a trip to Los Angeles soon, and I’ll be flying all the way across the United States from the East Coast to the West Coast.

Since I currently live in the Washington, D.C. area, I could fly from one of the many airports in the area:

  • Baltimore Washington
  • Reagan National
  • Washington Dulles
However, since I’m from Boston and plan to travel there around the same time, I could also fly out of Logan Airport or TF Green.

I did some shopping around today. The prices are about the same, though the flight from Boston is about one hour longer.

The deciding factor may be that there is a promotion for triple mileage on American Airlines from Boston to Los Angeles at the moment. That’s the “sizzle”, but another deciding factor is that I can probably get a ride to the airport in Boston, as opposed to here in D.C. - I know a lot more people in Boston.

No matter how I get there, I’m really looking forward to the trip. I love California and have some very good friends there. I’ll take pictures of course!
