JetBlue versus Mother Nature

Maryland got soaked with rain last night and this morning, and while the spouts are off while I write this, the forecast is for more heavy rains within the next couple of hours.

So I have to ask - why is JetBlue flight 1326 from Baltimore to Boston, scheduled to leave at 4:35PM, getting delayed until 5:50PM?

JetBlue Status

According to the forecast, the chance of precipitation at 4:30PM is about 70%, while at 5:50 it is 100%! So why the delay? Seems like they are quite convinced of the weather later this evening, flight 1328 which was scheduled to leave at 7:35PM has already been canceled.

JetBlue versus Mother Nature

I really hope that our flight does not get canceled! I’m flying to Boston with my two year old daughter so a delay is bad enough. Having to drive back to Bethesda tonight and then back to Baltimore again tomorrow would really stink!

The flight took off one and a half hours late, but thankfully it was not canceled. Incredibly, after we landed and pulled up to the gate, waited, waited, and waited some more, the pilot announced that they jetway was broken and our plane was getting moved to another terminal. Ugh!

Its also worth mentioning that the flight was not delayed from departing due to inclement weather - the plane arriving to take us to Boston was delayed because of bad weather. That made MUCH more sense!
